Part(1/4): Resources 


Paper 1: Topic wise list 


1.1-1.3 : 

Basic source : Bhasme , Braintree material 

Value addition: Akshat Jain book + Value addition by google search.

Remarks: You should do this after completing other sections of syllabus in the last. Content would be Sufficient.


1.4: 

Primary source : Sachin Gupta sir notes 

Addition: Bhasme + Akshat Jain book + IGNOU material for evolution, ePG pathshala (selective ) 


1.5: 

Basic source : Bhasme+ P. Nath

Value addition: epg pathshala , Akshat Jain 

Remarks : prepared notes on each topic mentioned in the syllabus like Primate behaviour, primate locomotion etc. Prepared all topics by looking at PYQs also.


1.6: 

Basic source : Sachin sir notes, 

Value addition:  akshat Jain book, IGNOU material, LevelUP ias test series value addition video.

Remarks : Covered out of Africa theory and multi region hypothesis in detail by searching from various sources on internet. 


1.7 : 

Basic source : Bhasme


1.8: Archeology along with ppr 2 



2.1-2.5, 3,4,5, 7

Ember and ember basic understanding 

Basic source : Bhasme , Braintree 

Value addition:  ignou material , LevelUp IAS value addition classes from test series , Akshat Jain 

Remarks: these topics require thorough coverage and understanding. These are better done once one is thorough with Anthropology Theories (chapter 6).

Basics : Bhasme, History of anthropological thought by VS Upadhyay and Gaya Panday, YouTube search. ePG pathshala modules. 

Value addition: Level Up IAS test series value addition 

Remarks : this chapter is extremely important and forms core of anthropology, this should be covered in depth. I made my own notes(digitally on Evernote )after studying it from multiple sources. I have already shared those notes on my channel.

Value addition: Akshat Jain, LevelUpIAS test series value addition class. 

Remarks : I changed the examples and case studies by searching examples myself. I did that to make my content different from others in this chapter.


9,10,11,12

Basic material : Sachin sir notes, P.Nath

Value addition: Akshat Jain book, IGNOU(for 9.6,9.7,9.8,10,11)

Remarks : These 4 chapters were my strong areas(apart from socio cultural), I revised them multiple times and made short notes of them for quick revision. Genetics is objective in nature ,therefore, if you have good content and present it in different subheadings it fetches you good marks. 


Note: I used above mentioned resources selectively as per need of the syllabus and demand of the examination (Reference: PYQs ).




Resources: Paper 2 


Topic 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 & 1.8(paper 1) 

Basic source : Prehistoric Archaeology by DK Bhattacharya, IGNOU notes( selectively) 

Value addition: Anthropology Demystified by Akshat Jain for diagrams and sites locations, Bhasme for diagrams of tools.

Remarks : Saw some lectures of DK Bhattacharya sir on YouTube for better understanding. 


2. Topic 2, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3 : 

Basic source : Indian Anthropology by Nadeem Hasnain, Bhuvnesh Patil sir notes ( AIR 59, 2017) .

Value addition: IGNOU material 

Remarks : For village studies section I completely relied on Bhuvnesh Patil sir notes , took print out of them. Thereafter, I did value addition from IGNOU material by including perspectives of scholars like Deepankar Gupta, Rajni Kothari , Gail Omvedt etc. 

 

3. Topic 4 : 

Basic : Bhasme, Google searched each scholar and made notes 

Value addition: Karandeep Sir (level UP IAS) test series value addition notes.

Remarks : I have shared my notes for this topic, you can refer those. 


4. Topic 6.1 to 9.3 (Tribal Anthropology) : 

Basic : Tribal India by Nadeem Hasnain, Xaxa Report 2014 : made short notes out of it, Mai Bhi Bharat videos ( on YouTube, watched many of them to feel the issues ) 

Value addition: Ministry of Tribal Affairs Website, MoTA annual report.

Remarks : Included many examples in this from current and newspaper.
